Cogeneration, tri-generation, waste heat valorization

Essenga builds CHPs ranging from 10kWe to 5MWe. An energy study will be done to dimension the CHP and establish the capacity most suitable for the customer. The energetic design, operating hours, layout and  choice of technology (gas engine or gas turbine) are extensively discussed with the customer. We pay careful attention to design the ideal solution for the customer in terms of energy, CO₂, investment, maintenance and timing.

Financials (CAPEX and OPEX) will be highlighted and the components are chosen in consultation with the customer. Essenga offers support for grid studies, permits, governmental support applications and inspections,  in order to fully guide the project as a whole.

If required,third-party funding can be offered, meaning the customer does not have to bear the investment.

Essenga has experience with CHPs on natural gas, biogas and syngas. Essenga can build the techniques for the production / purification of the biogas and syngas. Essenga builds CHPs that produce steam, hot water and hot air, depending on the needs of the customer.

For cooling applications, a tri-generation solution comes into view. In this case the gas engine or turbine is accompanied by an absorption cooler so to transform the surplus of heat into cold water of typical 5 – 7°C.

Waste heat can often still be used in the process or converted into steam and / or electricity. Essenga has experience with the construction of ORCs and steam turbines, which convert waste heat into electricity.
