Helping a Croatian wood processing facility convert biomass into renewable electricity through gasification technology.

Wood processing facilities generate large quantities of wood residues as part of their daily operations. Rather than treating this biomass as waste, we converted it into a valuable energy resource while reducing dependence on conventional electricity sources.

Essenga supported the implementation of a biomass gasification system that converts wood residues into combustible gas.

The gas produced is then used to generate renewable electricity, allowing the facility to transform its own production by-products into a reliable source of energy. By integrating gasification into the site’s operations, the project creates value from biomass that would otherwise have limited use.

Many industrial operations generate biomass residues that can serve as a valuable energy source. Gasification offers an alternative to disposal by converting wood waste into renewable fuel that can be used to generate electricity and, in some applications, useful heat.
